BIOGRAPHY
DJ FINNESS | DJ • PRODUCER • HOST • CULTURAL CURATOR
Born in Guyana, raised in Queens, New York, and now based in Atlanta, Georgia, DJ Finness has built a career rooted in music, culture, versatility, and an undeniable ability to connect with a crowd.
His journey behind the turntables has taken him far beyond the traditional DJ booth. As a U.S. Army veteran, Finness carried his passion for music around the world, DJing throughout Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, Germany, Hawaii, Belgium, and across the United States. Those experiences helped shape a musical identity influenced by different cultures while remaining deeply connected to his Caribbean and New York roots.
Known for seamlessly navigating Soca, Reggae, Dancehall, Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, R&B, and Caribbean music, DJ Finness approaches every event with one goal: create an experience, not simply play music. Whether commanding a festival crowd, setting the atmosphere aboard a boat ride, rocking a nightclub, or connecting with an online audience, his sets combine musical knowledge, crowd awareness, personality, and energy.
Beyond DJing, Finness is also a music producer, artist, audio engineer, content creator, and entrepreneur, allowing him to approach entertainment from both the creative and technical sides of the industry.
He is also the creator and host of The Turntable Talk Show, an interview platform built around the philosophy “Real DJs. Real Conversations. Real Culture.” The show gives DJs, sound-system personalities, artists, promoters, and other members of the Caribbean entertainment community a platform to tell their stories in their own words while preserving the history, experiences, and culture behind the music.
From Guyana to Queens, from the military to stages around the world, and now to Atlanta's growing Caribbean entertainment scene, DJ Finness continues to evolve while staying true to the culture that shaped him.
For DJ Finness, it's bigger than playing records.
It's about controlling the energy, connecting people through music, preserving the culture, and making every crowd remember the experience.
